Biography
Associate Arts Professor Catherine Coray (
faculty, Experimental Theatre Wing, since 1991) has been director of the
hotINK Festival of Play Readings, which takes place each January at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, since 2002.
hotINK became an international event in 2006, and has presented work from 17 countries, including Australia, Cuba, France, Mexico, Serbia, Syria andWales. Readings in
hotINK are performed by distinguished actors from the New York Theatre, such as Bill Camp, Kathleen Chalfant, Jessica Hecht, Paul Lazar, Ken Leung, Joan MacIntosh, Christopher McCann, Kristine Nielsen and Pamela Payton-Wright, as well as the talented students and alumni of the TSOA Drama Department, and have featured the work of directors such as Liz Diamond, Robert Lyons, Steve Mellor, Rubén Polendo and B.D. Wong. As an actor, Catherine has worked with such directors as Anne Bogart, Susan Dietz, Andre Gregory, Michael Kahn and Lois Weaver; as a director, she has staged work by Keith Curran, Richard Hoehler, Holly Hughes, Jessica Litwak and Martin Moran. She maintains an ongoing relationship with artists, theatre companies and universities in Cuba, Belarus, Austria and Chile, and recently collaborated with Cuban choreographer Sandra Ramy on
Pregones, a dance-theatre piece about life in Havana.
