Chris Andersson came to NYU directly from working as Director of Recruitment for the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Waterford, CT, where he also served as NTI’s representative on the Twelve College Exchange.  For the eleven years prior to that, he was co-Director of the Trinity/La MaMa Performing Arts Program, a college-level study semester in experimental performance, administered by Trinity College in Hartford, CT and housed at La MaMa Experimental Theater Club in the East Village of New York City.  When his role changed after five years from Assistant Director to Administrative Director, he joined the faculty of Trinity College as a visiting lecturer.
Chris has a long history in New York as a well-received performer of both theater and cabaret and has recently become an independent theatrical producer, his latest achievement being THE MONEY SHOT cabaret series, which won both audience and critical acclaim.  He holds a B.A. in Theater and Dance from Trinity College, where he received the George E. Nicholls III Prize in Theater, and is pursuing his Master’s degree in English with a focus on Writing, Rhetoric and Media Arts, also at Trinity.  He loves to travel, spent a recent winter living in Stockholm and the minute you talk about traveling abroad, he’s tossing some underwear in an overnighter and heading out the door to meet you at the airport.
